Amherst Pharmacy

Company Names, addresses, dates:
Amherst Pharmacy - the Rexall Store, Amherst VA

Notes:
Thomas Turner Hatcher (1895-1979) was the owner of the Amherst Drug Store1. He signed the checks that are shown below.
A 1923 Lynchburg city directory listed Hatcher as a pharmacist, working at the Patterson's Uptown Store. Hatcher would have been about 27 years old at that time. The earliest mention I see of the Amherst pharmacy is 19262, so he must have started that pharmacy sometime between 1923 and 1926.
The latest reference I found to the Amherst Pharmacy is in 19603, so it may have closed down on or near that date.
Apparently this pharmacy was part of the the Rexall chain of drug stores .
