Barnes Drug Store

Company Names, addresses, dates: 1,4
Woolfolk & Ellis, 102 N. Railroad Ave, Ashland VA (????-1899)
Barnes Drug Store, 102 N. Railroad Ave, Ashland VA (1899-19??)

Notes:
Clyde Aquila Barnes (1877-1941)2 went to work at the J.G. Hughes Drug Store at the age of 14, and stayed there for 7 years. That would have been circa 1891-1898. 4

He initially bought out the drugstore of Woolfolk & Ellis1, and his early business partner was Dr. D.S. Ellis, but Barnes eventually became the full owner of the drugstore. 4
Barnes passed away in 1941, but judging by the cars in the postcard that is depicted below, I suspect that his drug store kept going and kept the Barnes name beyond that year.

Additional information about the Barnes drug store is available at the Ashland Museum web site
