Notes:
Walter Lawrence Lyle (1873-1950)² was a Bedford pharmacist for 52 years. He graduated from the Medical College at Richmond in 1898, and opened a pharmacy in Bedford. He was a member of the State Board of Pharmacy for 12 years, and for a time served as it's head. He also served for a time as the Mayor of Bedford.¹
The Lyle Drug Store continued after Walter passed away until at least 1958, as that is the last year I found a newspaper ad that mentioned it³.
One of the labels below says "R.H. CAUDLE & M.G. BOWER, OWNERS", so at some point, presumably after Walter Lyle passed away, they took over the store.
