Notes:
George S. Pine (1908-1956)6 was a native of Berryville. He graduated from the Medical College of VA (School of Pharmacy) in 1929. He worked for Charles C. Haskell & Co in Richmond until 1945. 4
In 1945, Edward P. Berlin sold his drugstore at 1 West Main Street to someone named Hanley, who in turn sold it to George Pine3.

Pine passed away in 19564. Sometime after that, his estate sold the drug store to Eugene White3.
It then became known as the White's Pharmacy until circa-1998.5

pine_02 This is a postcard depicting Main Street in Berryville, and is postmarked 1947. The building on the left, with the green roof, is the Pine's Drug Store at 1 West Main Street.


Whites Pharmacy Items:
whites_01 This is a postcard depicting the interior of Whites pharmacy. On the back it is post-marked 1965, and it says the pharmacy was the first professional pharmacy of it's design in the US. It goes on to say it was transformed in 1960, and that the 2 innovations are a patient waiting lounge and a receptionist unit.
whites_02 This is another postcard depicting the interior of Whites pharmacy. On the back it says "Eugene V. White, Pharmacist" and goes on to tout that the picture on the front is of the "first office practice of pharmacy, which was transformed from a traditional drug store in November 1960".
