Notes:
William Harrison Sheppe (1865-1934)² was born near Harrisonburg VA. He came to live in Charlottesville in 1900, and started in the drug store business. He was the proprietor of the University Drug Store. ²

After Sheppe passed away in 1934, the University Drug Store continued on until at least 1960. I wasn't able to determine who the owner/proprietor was in the later years.

There is a receipt below from the "University Pharmacal Company". I don't think it was related to the University Drug Store other than having a similar name. I included it here because I couldn't find any information about it and I didn't know where else to put it.

This is a receipt from 1897, from the University Pharmacal Co. I don't know if it's related in any way to the University Drug Store, other than having a similar name. It says: heading: ... Charlottesville, VA., May 27th 1897 / Mr. W. H. Werner / Jeffersonton VA / Bought OF University Pharmacal Company, / Manufacturers of / Standard Pharmaceutical and Chemacl Preparations
