Notes:
Dr. Howson White Cole (1830-1910) was a druggist in Danville2,3.
His obituary says he attended the Medical College of South Carolina, and later the Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, where he graduated in 1854. He was a confederate solder, and after the war started a drug business, which he stayed with until about 1905.3
The Danville city directories for 1881 & 1892 list his drug store at 429 Main Street. The 1892 directory also lists a "Cole & Grymes" at 1007 Main Street. And the 1881 city directory also has an advertisement that lists his drug store at "No 3 Masonic Building", which I beleive was at 429 Main Street.
