Notes:
John Andrew Trent (1889-1975)² and Oscar Edward Trent (1897-1975)³ were druggists in Danville VA. They appear to be brothers, as they were both born in North Carolina, and they were listed as living in the same house in the 1920 Census.
The 1921 directory for Danville VA lists John as the president & manager of the Trent Drug Company at 631 N. Main Street, with Oscar listed as a clerk at that store.
There is no Trent pharmacy listed in the 1927, 1929, or 1930 directory, so presumably the Trent drugstore closed down (or wasn't listed in the directories for some reason). Then starting in 1931, the city directories list John's "J A Trents Pharmacy" at 1472 N Main Street, with Oscar listed as a pharmacist at Bendall's drug store. I don't know why Oscar was working at a different drug store - maybe the brothers had a falling out.
The 1935-1945 directories list J A Trent's pharmacy, with Oscar listed as a pharmacist at the Patterson Drug company.
Then starting in 1947, John's "J A Trent Pharmacy" is no longer listed, and starting in 1950, Oscar has his own drug store "Oscar Trent's Drug Store" at 2033 N Main Street. Oscar's drug store is listed until at least 1960 (I didn't search directories after that year).
