J.R. Lupton Drug Co

Company Names, addresses, dates:
J.R. Lupton Drug Co, Harrisonburg VA (ca.1906-1909) 1,2

Notes:
James Robert Lupton (1854-1941)3 ran a drug store business in Harrisonburg VA.4

There are newspaper mentions of a "Chapman & Lupton's drug store" in Luray VA in 1896/1897, but I don't know if this James R. Lupton was the partner in that store, or if that store was just co-owned by someone with the same last name.5

The earliest mention I found of the J.R. Lupton Drug Company in Harrisonburg was a newspaper mention in 1906.1
His drug company didn't last long, as in March of 1909, he sold his store and all it's stock to Jacob W. and C.B. Williamson, who continued to operate the store under the name Williamsons. 2

In 1910, Lupton purchased the Massanetta Springs Summer Resort, and in later years he became the largest stockholder in the First National Bank of Harrisonburg.4
