Claiborne Drug Co

Company Names, addresses, dates:
Claiborne Drug Co, 205 9th Street, Lynchburg VA (1905-1924) 1,2
Claiborne Drug Co, 828 Church Street, Lynchburg VA (1926-1937) 1

Notes:
Charles R. Claiborne (1877-1934)3 began with the Strother Drug Co, before establishing his own drug store company, the Claiborne Drug Company. 4
The announcement of his company incorporation came in 19052.

The original location of his store, 205 9th Street, was known as the "Krise Building"5. As of today (December 2024), that building still exists.

Claiborne passed away in 19343, but it seems his drugstore continued until 19371.
I don't know who took over the store for those last few years. The 1930 US Census said he had a 17 year old son, who would have been 21 years old in 1934, so it's possible he tried to take over the store. Or it could have been his wife Mary S. Claiborne.
There was also a co-worker (registered druggist) named Mr. Hugh Andrews mentioned in a 1916 advertisement5, so it may have been him.
