Notes:
Dr. Dinwiddie Brazier Phillips (1826-1892)5 was a surgeon in the US Navy (and the CS Navy during the civil war) 6.
After the civil war, he had a drug store in Warrenton VA as early as 1866.7

In 1873, he opened a new drug store in Lynchburg VA on 12th Street.1
That store used the name "D. B. Phillips & Co", and was short lived, as later that same year he announced a disolution with his partner, and resumed operation on his own at 197 Main Street.2
I don't know if it moved again, or if there was just some type of misprint of the address, but later references refer his location as "195" Main Street.
I couldn't find references to his drug store after 1875, and I don't see him listed the the 1881 City Directory for Lynchburg, so his store likely closed between 1875 and 1881.

Phillips passed away in May 1892, while he was living in Orange County VA. 8
