Notes:
Dr. Charles Haddon Spurgeon Snead (1857-1899)2 owned a drug store in Lynchburg.1
He got his start working in a drugstore in Buchanan VA owned by Mr. Couch. He later went to Baltimore and studied Dentistry. He moved to Savannah Georgia for 3 years to practice dentistry, before returning to Buchanan. He moved to Lynchburg sometime around 1885, and eventualy started his drug store business on 5th Street.3
The store was called "C H S Snead & Co". The "& Co" appears to be referring to his partner, A. W. Butler. 1

Snead passed away in 18992.
Max Richard Petzold (1867-1950)4 took over as the manager of the drug store as early as 1900. The name remained "C H S Snead & Co" with Petzold as manager until 1925/26, when was renamed for Max Petzold. Petzold continued as the store owner until 1948. 1
