Notes:
Arthur Temple Snellings (1857-1894)3 was listed as a drugstore clerk in the 1874 Richmond city directory (Manchester section).2
He started his own drugstore in 1875, with his younger brother Julian Chiles Snellings (1857-1928)4, with the firm being called "Arthur T. Snellings & Bro".1

There are holes in the years of operation for their drugstore(s) listed above, because the Richmond City directories didn't always include Manchester, but it appears that by 1888 they had 2 separate drugstores, one called "Arthur T. Snellings & Bro" and the other called "J.C. Snellings & Bro", where they each shared top billing over the other.2

Arthur passed away in 1894, and Julian carried on as the whole owner of the store. Julian passed away in 1928, but the drugstore carried on with his name. The last year it appears in Richmond city directories was 1947.2
I couldn't find out who took over the drugstore after Julian passed away. Julian had 2 sons, John Marshall Snellings and Thomas N. Snellings, but I couldn't find any evidence that they were involved with the drug store.

The early addresses of the drugstore included 1228, 1221, and 1226 Hull Street, but the first 2 may have been misprints. Some of the advertisements in later years say that the store had been at 1226 Hull street since 1875.5
