  Magee's Corner Drug Store, 254 N Sycamore (1952-1965) 1,2
Notes:
The Corner Drug Store first shows up in Petersburg city directories
in 1920. The address, 418 N Sycamore Street, was the address of the
Richard R. Totty
drug store in the 1918 directory.
That address was on the corner of Sycamore and Old Streets. 1
Starting with the 1927 directory the store is listed at 254 Sycamore Street,
which was on the corner of Sycamore and Bank Street. 1
I could not find information about who originally owned the drugstore, but
in 1934, and ad for the store said it was part of "Southworth's
Drug Stores", along with
Bank's Drug Store.3
Starting about 1942
James Thomas Magee (1912-1963)4
was listed as the proprietor of the Corner Drug Store.5
Starting in 1952, the city directories started referring to the store
as "Magee's Corner Drug Store".1
I don't have access to any Petersburg city directories after 1959,
but the last newspaper reference to the store that I found was from
1965, when it was announced that the Blackwell Smith drug store
had acquired Magee's Corner Drug Store.6
