Adie & Gray

Company Names, addresses, dates:1
Adie & Gray, 147 Main, Richmond VA (1852-1860)

Notes:
Samuel F. Adie and John Taylor Gray had a drug store in Richmond in the 1850s. I've seen reference to their drugstore at 147 Main Street in a pharmeutical journal from 1852, and city directories from 1856 and 1860. I also saw a reference to a court case against Adie & Gray in 1871. All these references are from documents that showed up in a google search for Adie & Gray.

Bottles:

adie_01 adie_02 This is an aqua colored, 3.5 inch, crudely made bottle with an open pontil scar on the base. It is embossed:
vertical on front: ADIE & GRAY
vertical on side panel: RICHMOND VA
vertical on side panel: DRUGGISTS
base: (open pontil scar)
adie_05 adie_06 This is an aqua colored, 6.8 inch, bottle with an open pontil scar on the base. It is embossed:
front: ADIE & GRAY / RICHMOND

adie_03 This is an aqua colored shard that is 7.3" tall and 3.25" wide. I estimate if it was whole, the bottle would be over 9" tall. It is embossed:

vertical on side panel: RICHMOND
adie_04a adie_04b This is 2 pieces of an aqua bottle, that would have been somewhere between 6.5 and 7" tall. It's embossed:
