Notes:
William Henry Briggs was a Confederate Captain who started a school and a pharmacy in Emporia VA after the civil war. Two of his sons, Andrew Gesner Briggs and Albert Sidney Briggs moved to Richmond and started a drugstore on the corner of Grove and Harrison Avenues.2

I've seen another bottle that was embossed with Andrew G. Briggs that was also embossed with "Monticello Hotel".
