Notes:
Vernon Grant's book lists various dates and addresses for Dove's drugstore, but the
ones listed above were adjusted based on various newspaper ads and articles.
Dr. Samuel Ege Dove (1817-1891)6 was a druggist in Richmond VA.
The earliest reference I found to him was an 1842 advertisement for his drug store, so he
started on or before that year.
He had various partners over the years.
William B. Isaacs became his partner in 1847, and the name of the store changed
to "Dove & Isaacs"3.
In 1851, Dove took on a 2nd partner, Alexander B. Archer, and the name was changed to
"Dove, Isaacs & Co."4.
By 1860, he had dropped Isaacs and kept Archer, and the name was just "Dove & Co.".7
In 1868, he formed a new co-partnership with D. W. Moseley at a location previously
occupied by Blunt & Moseley, with the new store named "Dove & Moseley".5
Dove's drug store was originally located at 33 W Main Street, which was also
referred to in early newspaper ads as "Sign of the Black Boy and Mortar, Mansion House,
Richmond Va".2
To see who was there before Dove, I did a search of old Richmond newspaper ads for that
location, and here are some of the druggists who were there before Dove:
    1827: Thomas Pulling
    1831: Thomas Pulling & Mosco L. Day
    1832: Mosco L. Day
