Notes:
Before he went into the drug store business, Edward Payson Reeve (1832-1898) was a Captain in the 1st Virginia Infantry Regiment in the Civil War. He wrote about his time in the Civil War, including his experience in Pickett's Division during the battle at Gettysburg2.
