Notes:
Walker Hawes Washington (1869-1923)3 was listed as a drug clerk working for H.G. Forstmann's drug store in the 1891 Richmond City directory. By 1898, he was listed as a drugstore owner at 1201 Hull Street in the Manchester section of Richmond.2

In 1900, it was announced that he had teamed up with Mr. Everett E. Early (1870-1940)4, with the new name "Washington & Early".5

In 1911, it was announced that they had acquired the Perdue Brothers store at 1200 Hull Street (across from their current store), and that they were moving to that location in October.6

Washington passed away in 19233, which coincides with the last year the original store is listed in the Richmond city directory, but the stores at the other 2 locations continued on, with no name change.1

The last directory entry I could find for Washington & Early at 3318 Semmes Avenue was in 1940. In 1942, there was a drugstore named "Semmes Avenue Pharmacy" at that address.7
