Garland E. Faulkner /
Faulkner & Lawson

Company Names, addresses, dates:
Garland E. Faulkner, South Boston VA (1875-1896) 1
Faulkner & Lawson Drug Co, South Boston VA (1896-ca.1983) 1,2

Notes:
Dr. Garland Estes Faulkner (1854-1921)3 started a drug store in South Boston VA in 1875, and in 1880 moved it to a brick building on main street. 1
William Henry Lawson became a clerk at the store, and upon graduating from the Baltimore College of Pharmacy, he became a pharmacist, and eventually became a partner. In 1896, the name of the firm changed to "Faulkner & Lawson". 1

After Faulkner died, Lawson bought out his interest in the store, but did not change the name. At some point the proprietor of the store was his daughter, Jennie Phipps Lawson. Jennie was still the proprietor of the store in 1959.1
I see newspaper mentions of the Faulkner & Lawson drug co as late as 19832, so apparently it lasted over 100 years.
