Notes:
Wiley C. Harrell (1904-1983)5 opened the first Harrell's Pharmacy in 1946.1
Harrell graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy, and in 1929 went to work for the Peoples Peoples Service Drug Store in Norfolk, where in 1943 he was voted their "Manager of the Year". 6

His store in Virginia Beach was so successful, that he ended up opening multiple stores.

In 1969 at age 65, he sold his last remaining drug store.1
