Andrew Baldwin, D North corner 3d West (1867)
Baldwin and Flanigan, 3d West cor D St South (1868)
Baldwin and Cole, 3d West cor D St South (1869)
Notes:
Andrew Baldwin was born circa 1835 in Ireland2.
He bottled mineral water from 1866-1869.
The city directories list him with 3 different partners in 4 years1.
In 1866 he was teamed with
John Leitch1. "Baldwin & Leich" is the name that is embossed
on the bottles shown below.
In November of that year, he announced a mutual breakup with Leitch, and that
he was going to continue the business without a partner.3
In 1868 he was teamed up with
James Flanigan
and in 1869 he was teamed up with
James Cole1.
I know of no bottles with "Baldwin & Flanigan" or "Baldwin & Cole" embossed on them,
so presumably they re-used the bottles that were embossed with "Baldwin & Leitch".
Baldwin is also listed as a Grocer in 1869, and continues to be listed as a
grocer in subsequent years.1
It appears that after 1869, Cole found a new partner and created
Cole & Southey.
