Frank W. Brawner
Company Names, addresses, dates:1
  Frank W. Brawner, 320 N Royal Alexandria VA (1897-1903)
Frank W. Brawner, 408 Princess Alexandria VA (1904)
  F.W. Brawner & Co, 410 Princess Alexandria VA (1905-1908)
Notes:
Frank W. Brawner (1868-1949)2 teamed up with Joseph S. Beach
and built a mineral water manufactory in 1895 on North Royal Street3,4.
I haven't seen Mr Beach's name on any bottles, and he appears in the Alexandria
directories as a grocer and a "coal and wood" seller, but it's at the same address
(310 N Royal Street) as Brawner's Mineral Water manufactory is listed at, so
Brawner & Beach must have shared a building.
There exists a bottle that is embossed "F.W. BRAWNER & CO RAMMEL BROS PROPS ALEXANDRIA VA".
Also, the
Rammel Manufacturing Company
shows up in the 1910 city directory at the same address as that Brawner was at in
the 1908 directory. For these reasons, I think it's apparent that the Rammel Brothers
took over the Brawner mineral water establishment. Brawner is listed as having various
other occupations (watchman, clerk, crushed oyster shells business) in Alexandria city
directories after 1910.
