 Adam Ehlshlager is listed in the DC city directories under Grocers. Adam Ehlshlager was born about 1835 in Germany. His son, also named Adam, was born December 1870 in Washington DC.2
The elder Adam died in March of 19043. The younger Adam was listed as a grocery clerk in the 1900 census, and a grocery store proprieter in the 1910 census, so it looks like he took over for his father during that time.
