Notes:
Samuel Lee (1844-1911)2 was listed in Washington DC city directories as both a grocer and a bottler.
The only years Lee is listed as a bottler in the city directories are 1895 & 1896. All of the bottles embossed with his name are at the address of the bottling establishment (617-619 7th Street), and none of them have the address of the grocery store.
The July 25, 1894 Washington Post said that Samuel Lee and John N. Beck, at 619 Seventh Street SW received a wholesale liquor license, so they did that right about the time Lee was opening up his bottling business.
In 1903, Lee put his grocery business up for sale due to his poor health 3.
