to 1896.
He doesn't show up as a DC resident in the census, so he must not
have stayed long.
An article in the March 23, 1894 Washington Post said that there was a meeting
of the "Fat Men's Beneficial Association" held at William Wells' 363 M
Street SW, which included a "sumptuous supper prepared by Brother Wells".
