W.B. Grove

Notes:
 William Belew Grove (1857-1916)2 started the first drugstore in Clifton Forge in 1880, located at what is now the parking lot next to the court house1.

Grove's partner, F. F. Allen, left in 1893, and Grove became the sole proprietor. Allen moved back to Staunton to work with the Thomas Hogshead & Co drugstore. 3

One of the bottles below says "CLIFTON FORGE & IRON GATE VA". I don't know if that means Grove had 2 drug stores, or if it just meant his Clifton Forge store also served the nearby city of Iron Gate.

Grove had a son "W.B. Grove Jr.", and I wasn't able to determine if his son continued the drug store after Grove Sr died in 1916.
