Allen's Drug Store

Company Names, addresses, dates:
  Allen's Drug Store, 11 W. Washington St., Lexington VA (ca.1953-1957) 1,2

Notes:
The bottle below says the registered pharmacist was "Mrs. B.A. Allen".
Her name was Lodell Saville Allen (1916-1988)3, and she studied Pharmacy at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond from 1935-19384.
She was listed as a pharmacist for the Standard Drug Co in a 1939 Roanoke city directory, and as a pharmacist working for the Medical Arts Pharmacy in a 1942 Roanoke city directory.
In 1946, she became a pharmacist at Bierer's Pharmacy in Lexington VA.5

The first mention I could find of Allen's Drug Store was an ad in 1953.1
In 1956, Allen's Drug store was taken over by Robert A. Tolley6.
The name didn't change right away, but the last reference I found for Allen's Drug Store was in 19572.

I couldn't find any indication that her husband, Bertrand A. Allen was involved with the drugstore.
