Notes:
 George Peyton Craighill Sr (1851-1905)2 went to the Charletown Academy, then learned the drug business at Hagerstown MD. He moved to Richmond about 1872, then came to Lynchburg about 1874. He purchased the drug business that was previously operated by J. H. Thompson, and continued until about 1881, then moved to Charlestown for a year. He then returned to Lynchburg and took a job with J. H. Heald and Company, working as a chemist. His brother was Dr. E. A. Craighill who also had a drug store in Lynchburg.3
