Notes:
 J. Owen Hanvey (1858-1908)3 came to Lynchburg at roughly 1874, and started working for W. A. Strother & Son. In 1890, he formed a partnership with John William Faulkner and formed the firm Faulkner & Hanvey. When Faulkner passed away in 1894, Hanvey purchased the business, and became the sole owner. 2

Hanvey was also a director of and large stockholder in the First National Bank in Lynchburg. Hanvey passed away in 1908.2
