Notes:
Charles Green Lennon (1863-1945)3 was a druggist in Alexandria VA.1
The 1880 US Census lists him as a drug clerk, at age 17. The 1887 city directory for
Alexandria lists him as a drug clerk working for
J.D.H. Lunt.
In 1888, he purchased
A.A. Warfield's
drug store at 604 King Street2.
Lennon ran that drug store for a while and later opened a store a few doors down at 616 King
Street. He continued in the Alexandria drug store business until 1908, when he moved to the
Brookland neighborhood of Washington DC and opened a drug store there4.
In 1909, he sold his drug store at 616 King Street to
William P. Taylor5.
Charles' younger brother
Claude M. Lennon (1871-1941)6 was also a druggist, and ran a drug store.
It appears from the city directories that Claude took over the store at 604 King Street while
Charles opened the other store at 616 King Street. Eventually Claude took on a partner and
his store was called "Lennon & Duncan". That store continued until 1908, when Claude Lennon
declared bankruptcy7.
