His first drug store was the Ideal Pharmacy in Newport News in the early 1890s. He moved to Hampton and opened the G. G. Congdon & Co drug store on Queen Street, as well as the Bellamy Pharmacy on King Street. At some point he moved to Phoebus VA, where he opened this drug store. 1,3
